Calder Gardens
Last week, I spent my birthday at the recently opened Calder Gardens in Philadlpia, designed by Herzog & de Meuron, with gardens by Piet Oudolf. It really was the best way to see Calder’s sculptures and felt like a quiet escape from the surrounding city. The best comparison I could think of was the feeling of stepping into the Noguchi Museum in Queens: immediately transporting.
